Right-wing podcaster Tim Pool is the latest high-profile victim of "slamming," where scammers call the police a false emergency in the hope their targets will be raided.

Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Maryland conducted an emergency search Thursday while taping his Timcast IRL podcast live and said the shooter was considering self-harm.

“We were slapped in the face. I'm very upset,” he said as police entered the Maryland mansion where he was filming his show.
"I don't like the police coming into my house when there are pads everywhere. They come back with a warrant. I don't know who let them in. I know we're here because we got beat up."
Mr Poole said the officers were polite but blamed the thugs for sending them to his house as an emergency, writing: "This is a large house with a lot of staff and used as a production studio."
Maryland State Police confirmed that they searched the announcer's home around 8:15 that night, and a Maryland State Police trooper en route said the call may have been a "slap."

After his initial tweet, Hambly wrote: "Bad news: no camera, so my video will be weak. Good news: the whole internet can't see my hairy butt in the grass. I'd say wash it off."
The YouTuber doesn't know exactly why the SWAT attack on his man happened, but Hambly told fans, "It's definitely because my SWAT sent him a lot of super chats."

Later on, TheQuartering shared footage from its home security system outside the home, noting that seeing police outside was only a small part of the response.
The next day, Hambly sought to speed up his complaint about the SWAT team's response, tweeting: "Just finished meeting with my attorney (part-Asian super-flyer Bill Richmond) and will post something on Friday. . . speech. I believe law enforcement did the best they could with the information they had. There are some criticisms, but Bill. will come."
